Just A Little Update...

Hi everyone!

It's been a little while now since I last blogged and thought I'd write a quick blog to let you know what's been going on.

So as I said in my last blog I made my first ever order with e.l.f cosmetics and I'm still awaiting my delivery. But can you imagine how excited I was that they were doing another 50% sale so soon after the last one which I missed. Unfortunately it appears that this 50% sale was to be their last ever 50% sale, so I was even more happy that I was able to take advantage of this and order myself a load of goodies. Again waiting on these to be delivered and I can't wait! Ordered a range of products to try out and I'm sure they won't disappoint!

So I've been a bit preoccupied with reading the last few days (finally getting myself back into it as I have quite a few books I haven't read yet). I'm a huge fan of books by the author Cathy Glass, she is a foster carer who writes stories about children she has fostered and their journey. If you haven't read any of her books I suggest you do so, you will be very glad you did; as I struggle to put the book down once I start reading her books! They are very moving stories, which really touch your heart and quite often I've cried whilst reading one of her books. They truly are a great a read, so if you love to read or even not really a fan of reading; go and read one of her books, they truly are a fantastic read. They're that good, I even started and finished two of them yesterday! If you want to find out more about Cathy then check out her website which is www.cathyglass.co.uk

All make-up images are from www.elfcosmetics.co.uk and all book cover images are from www.cathyglass.co.uk I do not own any of the images and no copyright was intended.

Before I go, just wanted to say that more nail art/swatches will be coming soon (well as soon as I have the energy to do something with my nails, still currently wearing my last nail art from previous post; it definitely has lasted not one chip yet)! So keep an eye out folks!

Right I'm gonna get going now, as I'm not very well and sitting at my computer isn't helping at all. So until next time, have a fantastic week =) X

Just A Quickie...

Hi everyone!

So it's been a little while since I last blogged and I just wanted to do a quick little update on what I've been on with since last time.

Well first things first I finally received my second order from Models Own that I ordered during their 50% Sale, and yes everything was perfect and arrived safely. Here's what I ordered...
^ Everything in the box ^
^ Top left to right... Gun Grey 3-in-1 Base Coat, Top Coat & Gloss (x2), Black Magic
Bottom left to right... Pearly Queen, Golden Peach, Feeling Blue, Slate Green and Coral Reef ^
^ Left to right... 4 Way Nail Buff and 6 Way Nail Buffer ^

I'm yet to try anything out from this selection but I'm sure it won't be long before I do. Again it's just a case of which colour shall I try first?! Pictures to come as and when I try each colour etc.

So moving on...the other day I got bored and thought what can I do to pass some time? The answer I came up with was to paint my nails. I had a hard time choosing a colour to paint my nails as I have so many to choose from and finally decided on Models Own Lili's Pink. I find their nail polishes to have a quite strong smell but I'm sure there are worse out there. That aside I love how easy they are to paint on, so smooth and glide on effortlessly; and not to mention they dry fairly quickly (always a bonus in my opinion). The colour itself I'd describe as somewhat shimmery and quite a bright barbie kinda colour. It's a really nice colour just something that I'll probably have to get used to and maybe a colour I'd wear in the summer. Anyways after I did the base colour I decided to do a little bit of nail art, just to liven it up a bit; nothing to extreme, just something simple and here's the results.

 ^ Without flash ^

Before I go I have a few more things to tell you. First thing is I've seen a lot of people raving about e.l.f. cosmetics and I can say I'm next to jump on this bandwagon as I have made my first purchase today. Roll on when my delivery comes and I can try out my new range of goodies and see what the hype is about. If any of the reviews/comments are to go by, I'm sure I will love them too! More on this when I receive my order and give the products a go!

Finally, totally unrelated to anything beauty wise but I went to my first Lee Evans show last Friday and I was not disappointed. I absolutely love this guy and I'm always in stitches watching his shows, so when I found out he was coming to my town I just had to get tickets (this was last October, so been waiting nearly a year to see him). He's an amazing comedian and if like me you haven't been to one of his shows before and find him hilarious, I suggest the next chance you get to go see him live DO IT!! I can guarantee you won't be disappointed at all and it will be totally worth it. Now just to wait for his new DVD to come out so I can re-live the night of laughter I endured. Needless to say I had some serious stomach ache after laughing so much and a banging headache from how loud it was, but completely worth it!!

Right I guess I best be off, as this was meant to be a quick blog and has took me so much longer to right (partly because I keep getting distracted by things to watch on YouTube). So until next time guys, have a great week!

Poll

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post to say check out my poll on the right sidebar. Trying to decide on the best Models Own nail polish colour to buy next and would much appreciate your input, so if you could get voting and which ever colour or colours have the most votes are the ones that I'll buy next to add to my collection.

Thanks and have a great day!

Barry M Nail Effects - The Results

Well as you know I received my Barry M Nail Effects Gold & Silver Foil nail polishes and I just had to try them out!

The polishes themselves were the usual texture for Barry M's nail polishes and easy to apply. I am quite impressed with the results, however, I have got little bubbles in my nail polish (could be due to the top coat that I applied after though, a second attempt with these nail polishes will give me a more accurate picture).

Anyways overall first time use they seem to be ok, may change my opinion on them with more use but I shall keep you updated.

Here's how my nails turned out with the first use...

I hope the next time I use these polishes I get better results and I don't smudge them, like I did this time lol; but still look pretty good in my opinion.

New Barry M Nail Effects

Hi guys!
So last Friday I received an e-mail from Barry M stating they have launched two new nail effects, a gold and silver foil. Now I love their crackle effects nail polishes so just had to get these to try!

I've been waiting since last Friday for my order to be shipped out and I was very happy when the postman rang the doorbell and had a parcel for me. Yes, it was my new Barry M nail effects polishes. Not bad to say the last time I checked the status of my order still said processing, so wasn't expecting them anytime soon!

Now I just need to decide on which colour to try first, or maybe I'll use both! Pictures to come soon of how these new nail effects look on natural nails.
So until next time guys, have a great day!

Some Of My Favourite Products

I love to dye my hair, but have recently gone back to my natural colour and opted for highlights. Now highlights can cost a fortune to maintain at the hairdresser's so as soon as I saw this John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray advertised, I had to get some to try.
The advert boasted about how it would make your hair lighter with each use, and me being me and wanting to save money from the expensive hairdresser trips thought why not give it a go! I can honestly say I'm glad I went to my local Boots and purchased some! It definitely does what it says and I've often had people ask me if I've dyed my hair as a result of using this product. The other good thing about it is the more heat appliances you use on your hair after applying the spray, the better the result! Now if you're like me and you use a hairdryer to dry your hair then straighten it after, you'll notice results in no time! It's also a bargain at £6.99 and is even more of a bargain when the product is in 3 for 2 at Boots.
Now for even better results I opted to buy the  Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo and Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Conditioner that goes with the Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray and I am 100% pleased with the results from all three of these products.
Here's a picture of me the day I had been to the hairdresser's and had my hair highlighted...
Here's a picture of how my hair looks now after using the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo, Conditioner & Lightening Spray...
Hopefully you should be able to tell the difference with the shades of my hair from these two pictures!
So if you're like me and want to save yourself some money in the long run, invest in these 3 products and you won't need as many trips to the hairdresser's for your highlights to be re-done. It works on both natural or coloured hair so is a really great buy!

Another fave product of mine is Batiste Dry Shampoo. Perfect for those days when you don't want to wash your hair just yet or simply just don't have the time. All you have to do is spray some of this product into your hair, rub it in, brush and style as normal and your hair is revitalised and feeling fresh until you're able to wash it.
I love this product as it is quick for when you need that just washed clean feel and comes in a variety of fragrances and even colours!
You can now also pick up a 400ml bottle as well as the original 50ml bottle and with the price of the 400ml bottle only being £4.99 and the 50ml bottle £1.52 from Boots, who could resist picking up a bottle and giving it a go?!
After seeing the new 400ml bottle I just had to get myself one and I opted for the floral & flirty blush fragrance Batiste Dry Shampoo.
A brilliant buy and deffo worth a try if you already haven't!
So that's just a few of my fave products, but what's yours; or what should I try? More will be added soon :)

Some Nail Art/Designs...

Me again!
Just thought I'd upload some samples of some nail art/designs I've done previously. Not all of it as good as it could be due to it being my first time painting the design, but as they say practice makes perfect; so expect a lot of nail art pictures coming your way!
I get a lot of my ideas from watching youtube videos, and I especially love one persons' designs in particular. You can watch these designs here www.youtube.com/cutepolish

Right ok, on with my nail art/designs...

 ^ Polka Dots & Marble Effect ^
 ^ Crackle Effect ^
 ^ Cookie Monster ^
^ Red, Polka Dot Diagonal Tips, Silver Stripe & Rhinestone ^
^ Blue Tips With Crackle Effect ^

More designs coming soon :)

Idea...

Hi there guys!
Ok so I had an idea on what I could do with the tissue paper my Models Own order came wrapped in as it seemed a shame to just throw it away.
I recently bought a new plastic storage unit to house all my nice new Models Own nail polishes which I bought during the 50% sale; and I thought it was a bit boring. So I thought I'd line the bottom of each draws with the Models Own tissue paper to liven it up!
Needless to say when I open the draws instead of seeing the plastic bottom, I see the Models Own logo and I'm happy that I no longer see the boring plastic.
Another plus from recycling the Models Own tissue paper is that, not only are my draws now more funky; it's also helping the environment! Thumbs up all round! :)

So here's how my draws look now they're lined with the Models Own tissue paper...

Anyone else found any other uses for the Models Own tissue paper?
